The Geodatenkatalog.de is a National Technical Component of the Spatial Data Infrastructure Germany (GDI-DE). It is a metadata information system for spatial data and services. The technical implementation is based on the networking of professional catalogs by federal authorities and the central catalogs of federal, state and local governments. The data is merged, consolidated and provided through a central interface. The Geodatenkatalog.de is the central node providing the available metadata for the Geoportal.de. By connecting the Geodatenkatalog.de to the INSPIRE Geoportal the German national metadata are searchable there, too.
