About
Climate change is taking its toll at large scale. Disasters such as flooding caused by severe rainfall or windstorm events are increasing in frequency and intensity. The effect of altering climatic conditions and its impact on the global and continental meteorological systems is undeniable. The Copernicus Emergency Management Service (CEMS) supports national entities and international organisations during disaster preparedness, the immediate emergency response as well as the recovery phase. The presentation showcases the potential of and how the CEMS can support actors of the emergency management and disaster risk domain throughout all three phases of the emergency management cycle.
