About
As geopolitical and climate risks proliferate across the world, the U.S. Air Force is increasingly focused on operations within the EUCOM and INDOPACOM theaters of operation with particular attention placed on overseas and expeditionary airbases in Japan, Germany, and other allies in Europe and Asia. Stitch3D has been working with the U.S. Air Force to develop cloud-enabled LIDAR data visualization, processing, and analysis to help expedite on-base damage assessment resulting from earthquakes, floods, coastal erosion, or hostile activity such as missile strikes. Using Stitch3D, Air Force civil engineers can rapidly upload, visualize, analyze, and disseminate point cloud data to multiple stakeholders and collaborate in a multiplayer 3D web viewer. Additionally, Airmen can process terrain features such as extracting ground points, generating digital elevation models and contour lines, and reprojecting coordinate reference systems to the correct location. Equipped with a cloud solution to manage point cloud data, users can benefit significantly from the “near real-time” data accessibility and multiplayer 3D web viewer for rapidly disseminating out and collaborating on geospatial data.
