Unmanned aerial systems (UAS) are an integral part of operations at the Landesamt für Geoinformation und Landesvermessung Niedersachsen (LGLN) (LGLN). The practical report describes the continuous establishment and current status of the use of UAS in LGLN with its cadastral offices and land survey department. In addition, LGLN also makes its expertise available to other state authorities as a geoservice. A main focus is on land consolidation, for which areas of well over 100 square kilometres per year are photogrammetrically recorded in Lower Saxony, but also specifically by laser scanning. In addition to the technical and organisational background, the presentation will also discuss the accuracies achieved and the strategic development towards cloud-based data processing and provision.
