Über mich
Hi! My name is Madeleine, and I'm a trained Geomatics Professional. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Geography, with a concentration in Geomatics, from the University of Victoria. Alongside my academic background, I bring a strong professional foundation from my experience as a Human Resource Manager and Logistical Coordinator.
For over five years, I have specialized in using GIS and Remote Sensing tools to transform complex data into clear, impactful visualizations that help stakeholders make informed decisions. My past experience ranges from creating maps to support government regulatory reports within the Oil and Gas sector for remediating decommissioned refineries, and manually processing 3D Point Cloud LiDAR data for the Utility Energy sector.
At the root of it all, a curiosity for science, nature and mathematics has always driven me to dig deeper, and ask "why".
My technical expertise spans application development, designing cartographically accurate maps that meet government standards, data cleaning, database organization, and data processing and analysis, with a focus on land classification. I am also adept at quickly learning new systems and software as needed. Through both years of academic and working experience, I've mastered programs such as ESRIs ArcGIS suite, QGIS, Bentley's MicroStation, CloudCompare, and my all-time favourites: Geo-Plus Products!
In addition to my technical skills, I bring a keen eye for detail, strong written and oral communication abilities, and a strategic, innovative, and positive approach to my work. I am passionate about leveraging systems thinking, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to advance the Geomatics industry. I am motivated by continuous learning and enjoy researching new technologies that improve workflow efficiency and enable processing larger volumes of data in less time.
I’m excited to grow alongside the rapidly evolving Geospatial industry and look forward to contributing to the future of Geomatics.
