UNIGIS is one of the best established distance-learning programs for GIS in the world. The online study format is location-independent and allows flexible time management. Therefore, the program is specifically tailored to the needs of in-service professionals. With more than 25 years experience in teaching GIS online, the University of Salzburg today offers its programs to students around the globe.
By now, the ClubUNIGIS community has grown to a network of more than 3,000 students and alumni. Many alumni excel as leaders and experts in institutions and companies worldwide.
DEPARTMENT OF GEOINFORMATICS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SALZBURG
The “Department of Geoinformatics” (Z_GIS) at the University of Salzburg is a well-established centre of competence in GIScience, active in research, continuing education and industry cooperation. With the competence being built from basic and applied research primarily funded through international programs, Z_GIS engages in educational and capacity building activities, outreach initiatives and international collaboration projects.
